homemade shanty pics
« on: Nov 11, 2008, 10:35 PM »
Here are some pics of my homemade portable shanty.

Hopefully this works, i've never posted any pics before and it's taken me a while to figure this stuff out.

The camo tarp is a temporary cover for this year.  I'll test it to see how it holds up on the ice.  I plan to redo it next year with some cordura (sp).  I may also replace the wood i used with metal (i've worked with wood my whole life, but i'm afraid it won't hold up for very long).

It folds up pretty well.  There are a few minor adjustments i need to make before it's completely ready for the ice.  Still need to do the windows.

i did that - registered and did the whole nine yards.  It seemed to pretty well.  I followed every direction to a tee and it looked like it would work.  Maybe they are too big.  I don't know.

I don't think there is any photo storage available on IS; at least I do not see where that is an option, even for Militia Members.

I'll try to help you out here.
After I type in all the text I want I press the enter key so my cursor is on the next line down. Then I go to photobucket and look for the photo I want to place here. Below the photo there are (should be) four options to use. If you click on the one that say's IMG code the word "copied" flashes breifly then you come back here and right click where you left your cursor flashing and select paste.
A long code shows up when you do that and when you hit the "Post" button your picture will show in your newly posted message.

Ok i usually open i.s and photo bucket at the same time.resize your photo to a smaller size(it just takes up less space).Left mouse clk on img tag and paste it in your post. You will see
These brackets mean open image and then close image.
Good luck

ok...i got as far as being able to post 1 picture, but how do you do multiples in 1 post?
After you post the picture, hit return and either add text or repeat the process.  I think you always have to be at the start of a new line.

OK....I can help.

You're having trouble resizing in Photobucket. The photo needs to be about 400 x 600 max so as not to screw up the whole thread.

Have you tried to resize?

NICE     Both should give yerselvs a big pat onna back.   Only thing I can see as just my $.o2 cents worth is adding a skirt so you can scoop snow or slush around your flip tops  so you can cut down on drafts getting under neath.  Just makes things more cozy ;)   Who knows, you get good enough at building those things you could start your own line of portables.  Next thing you know work wont seem like work anymore and youll deffinatley have to spend more time product testing ;D

Fishing should be the exercise of your skills- and its rewards the places it brings you to

Thanks Trooper Bri, I used your zip tie technique and it was really easy and effective.  I'm having a little trouble resizing to a bigger picture on photobucket.  Every time i try to make them 400 x 600 it won't let me. 320 x 240 is the biggest it will let me go.  Definitely going to add a skirt on the bottom to keep out the wind, along with windows.
