The BEST " PERCH LAKE " In New York For SLOBS !!!

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY LAKE Erie hands down.When the guys are out there you can do quite well.Most ice fish at Sturgeon POINT,
But also fish Wanakah,Athol Springs and other areas  where smooth ice can be found. Passed by WANAKAH yesterday and saw that the ice was as smooth as glass for the most part, but there was shove ice all along Hamburg Beach.Years ago I used to fish off Point Breeze and did well.

Just West of st pt there is a point called point breeze    bigfish

Seneca it is. Erie has some real long perch but not the girth of the ones in Seneca.  I have caught a lot in Erie in thev15" range and one at an even 17" none have hit the two lb. mark.

Seneca for size and you can ice fish the bays, Chautauqua for numbers!!!

Kingfisher. Just talk to the people that I have taken to Erie the last few years. They are all believers now.

Erie is a powerhouse and with its size and abundant numbers it's hard to think about driving anywhere else once its safe(even though it's never truly safe).. Home court advantage doesn't hurt. I grew up 5 minutes from the lake and have caught plenty. And BTW I think we have the belt still!! 3.6 lbs if I remember correctly?? The bigger perch are off of Pinehurst! 

3.8lbs Erie still holds the state record.

Definitely Seneca! Not hard to find the numbers, many times out and limited out in less than two hours! Once in an hour! I have a 3 pound 2 ounce jumbo in the freezer waiting for its trip to the taxidermist
