Judging by the pic, They were diggin postholes with it, the last time it was used. Someone forgot to wash it off when they were done... Either that, Or there is some serious dust on it. LOL
:)
Looks like a fun project, tho'. You'd want to put some sticky tape on the handrail, before ya use it, I'm thinkin'.. ...

My "hand me down" cup, or spoon auger. Still in use for  Early/late ice, the blade is still sharp. Although , I use a "spud" most of the time.

Closer view. Yes it's from sweden...
{& I often use "beverage" cans,for size comparisons, because almost everyone knows what size they are. ;) }

I have other icefishing items that are as old, or older than I am, but I am not a Photo-guy & sometimes I forget to take the picture, 'cause I'm trying to find a "can" to use as a "size" example.
LOL

Don't know if your an ebayer or not, but this is one of those situations where the seller took a risk by not setting a reserve and got burned!

Yea me!

Found this too!  I am currently high bidder on this as well... Stuff is coming out of the woodwork!   :o

The post description reads:

Found this in a garage sale tackle box.
And it sayes on it      PEEWEE

                                 PAT. CLIP

                                     No 45

                                  MUELLER

                                  ELEC. O_o

                                   CLEV. U.S.A.

I just went to the mueller site and scoured it for background info to no avail. I have sent an email to the regional manager for Mueller along with the photo and inscription info. Let's see if he can dig up some history on this puppy! Will let you guys know... just love this stuff!  ;D

Saw the old posts about the spoon auger. I grew up on this type. Me and my buddy used to have races and I usually won he has a spiral one. When that blade is sharp it cuts like a knife in soft butter. I still have it 30+ years later and still use it for ice up to 6/8" then the power comes out. Thank god we saved it cause this pond we fish you can't use anything power in the reservation and I never owned a spud till this year.

I'm thinking of setting them up as some sort of display in the garage. They might even see a little ice time this season for S**** & Giggles.
