Keep punching holes.  The gills are always hitting somewhere on a lake.  And if you don't find them at least you didn't grow roots.  You can always learn something out there.  Most of the times it learning where not to try again ;)

Shoot the bull, eat, talk about where to go next weekend, talk about fish we caught on other trips, tell the game warden your buddy just left with a bunch of fish over his limit, talked last week about bringing some yellow golf balls and the 1 wood to get in some winter golf practice (yes we actually did talk about this), wish we had brought the 4wheeler, wish we had a snow-machine. Anything to pass the time basically.

when its really slow out, i either ride the 4wheeler or my dad will bring a golf club and a few golf balls and make a little hole in the ice and see who can get it in in least amount of hits

 Pass gas! ;D

Bring some close pins and attatch them to the back of someones collar so they can walk around with it on for a while. And giggle at them! :D
Or call your buds who are at home and give them a "True"
big fish story and tell them "Wish you were here"!
 :o ;D :D

Do a bait check and go back to the rest of the Goatboys and eat, drink and shoot the breeze until the flags start waving again. Might even take out the rod and do a little jigging. :'(

I always go around and move and try to catch panfish, but still have the tipups set up. If after my 4th move, nothing is biting, I will set the alarm, and take a 1 hour snooze. Once my alarm didnt beep and I woke up in the middle of the night, lol
if anybody from michigan will help me out with the lakes and stuff up here I'd really appreciate it since I'm new to the area.

I got a new one. Now I walk around and pick uip trash. There are plenty of dirtballs leaving it out there to keep my busy.
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.

I move, but not before i cut holes and do some good scouting the lake... then my lines are always down except from walking from hole to hole.  I always loosen the drag on my rod and keep an i on it, sometimes from a distance when i move. more time in the water more chance of catching a fish.

First thing I do is ensure there is still bait on my hooks.

If it's a busy day on the lake and there are people out at the other 15+ shacks around us I usually grab a couple pints and visit the neighbours.

If it's a dirty day outside I read or listen to some tunes on the radio.

Nothing like a little pond hockey when it is really slow but ice has to be good.  If not, whiffle ball.  If by yourself, carry on a conversation with yourself.  This will drive others around you nuts.  If all else fails, pyrotechnics.  If you have a shanty and happen to have a female companion, use your imagination.  Never a slow day.

Look around the shack and see what kind of new doo-dads I can make to improve it. Sharpen hooks. Sort out the jig box. Talk to other fisherfolks. Have an adult beverage. If, after this, still nothing going, time to move on.

I usually sit around the fire, eat, smoke and bs.  But one major fun thing to do is to call in coyotes with the ol' dying rabbit call.  It's amazing how close you can get them to come in.

Take a little hike and BS with other fishermen.  Drill some new holes to move the bait around a little.  Break out the camera and take some scenic shots and shots of my buddies.

If it nice out or I really feel like catching fish I will move.  2/3 of the time I will light up a smoke, crack open a beer, get out the headphones, or call up some of the guys from work and see how they are doing.  If It stays slow I go out an socialize or go home.

I take a whiz around the lake on my sled, chat with a few fisherman, maybe play some poker with my buddies, wash dishes, (do a lot of cooking) Drink some beer, throw a decoy minnow on the line and wait for a fish to spear, get the super magnet out and see what I can pull out of the lake, HEY! FLAG UP!!!!! :'(

sometimes all you need for the flags to go up is take a nice walk and survey the fishing area- you can find new spots to fish, and most likely if you are far away a flag will pop up!  if you have an atv or snowmobile take a buzz around the pond with that or if you have dogs play with them. :'( :'(
