Sorry about listing the Kathleen store, have not been there. I mistakenly thought they were all like the Sandpoint store.  In a word, STUFFED.

I also removed it from the reply above.

I hope I didn't cause you a waste of fuel and that you only let your fingers do the walking, ha.    ;)2

haven't fished/setup for pike, but would say, 'Tie it down'.    :woot: :roflmao:

I use tipups for pike although I have caught them while jigging for perch

I called to make sure plus I don't drive (don't have a drivers license yet) I am also going to try and use both tip up and jigging for pike this year might gut the fish to come in more and hit the tip ups

Last year guys ice fishing Hayden at Sportsmans access Were fishing with tip ups being 10 feet apart and   covered a lot of the lake making it hard to find a place of your own and if you did find a spot you would not get a single bite except perch

The problem out there is people tend to go where they have seen people catch fish or are catching fish. I have had people walk through my tip ups I have had peripheral set up right on top of where I'm fishing I have also had people set my flags off because they were looking at the tip up to see how it works. There are people out there who have set out 1 or 2 extra tip ups. Than there are the people that are drunk or high on the ice There is plenty of area to fish out there. I usually put my tip ups around 5-10 feet a part just to avoid fish getting tangled in my other tipups.

Most times jigging out performs tipups, for me, 10 to 1. Way funner for me to watch the Vex and jig 'em.

I use 6# mono for everything. Have caught them on buckshots, smallest sized perch pattern Thomas cyclones, PK's just to name a few. You can use a steel leader but I don't. BUT if you don't you really need to pay attention and put the wood to them as soon as they strike. That way 90% of the time you hook them they are not hooked inside if the mouth and way less likely to bite you off. The rod I use is a 42" Bricker stick.

Wonder how thick it is and I know that I can get a lot of perch of many different sizes from there from bait size to eater-jumbo size
