  :%$#!:
Dock or boat fishing only at Round Lake State Park.

100 %    Open water !         Docks were dusted with a little snow.      Main gate is the only entrance for access. (Unattended)

Well damn!!!! I was hoping for better news than that on round  :-\

Yup, it looks sorta bleak for a while.

There are two docks at Round Lake over deep water and another at/in Dover and you may have the place to yourself.

But, alas, it's not the same.     :-\

Kindve bitter sweet for me, means more duck hunting this yr i was getting worried. I usually launch rocky point and boat to round though ill have to check it out.

Eastern wash had ice around the margins at sprague and all the irrigation ponds on 90, moses had no ice at all near the city and only a little bit on the shallow eastern slough.

Thanks for the update gator. Good to know i dont have to travel to the coast to try and fowl, this trip has been a bit rough.

We were off to a good start, but that was too good to be true.  I usually figure if we are ice fishing here on these local lakes before Christmas we are lucky.

I was starting to get excited but I agree with fowl language it gives me more time to chase ducks and geese. Plus it gives me time to get my stuff put together so first all I have to do is jump on the ice

If anyone wants a frozen lake I would recommend Blanchard lake be sure to check in at the first house to get permission to go fishing Also if you wish to go hunting for deer they have a good deer hunting up there so you can go hunting in the morning and then go fishing in the afternoon they have three spots to fish at the main like a little pond which I know have a lot of Brookies in it and what the owner likes to call a small visible have no idea how thick the ice is been too busy trying to get my dear

The lakes in Boundary are unsafe, no one has been on them.  With this warm spell it will be awhile.

I doubt anyone will find this surprising but chatcolet is ice free and round and benewah have a thin layer in the middle probably gone by now. Sprague was 90% and moses lake has 0 ice.

Gonna be a warm night.   It's 50*F at the Sandpoint airport, 53*F at Hope, and 52.8*F near Round Lake State Park.     YIKES !      :o

While waiting for Mother Nature to cooperate, I'm doing some recon as I am new to north Idaho. In SDakota I always new one of two lakes would be 1st to freeze. I have driven by a few of the smaller lakes and not seeing much ice. What lakes within an hour of CDA tend to freeze first?

Round Lake at the State Park by the same name is usually the first to to be safe in Bonner County.

Ok, so I checked the lakes section and don't see info on Round lake but I have been by there early in November. What species can I expect to catch? Is it mainly trout? Thanks for the input Rayne and gator.
