You can catch Lakers, Perch, Blue Gill, Bass, and the occasional Salmon in and around Gull Bay.

Is the lake completely frozen over ??? ...  and safe ??? I'm in Orlando for work :'( but it seems like that there is good...safe... ice on the king ??? What are the points of access besides Huddle on to the lake that are safe and "bubbler free".  The things  just make me nervous :-\

Yea really, the Super Bowl doesn't go off till later in the afternoon.  ;D Get a good day in on the ice, stop on the way home, pick up some food and drink, hang out with the guys and watch a great game. And you can't bet the great halftime commercials.  ;D

Sounds like The King is setting up nicely and there is plenty of ice on the southern basin for some good fishing to be had.  8)

I just went the capital news nine website to look at the live shot of lake george and the camera no longer points out onto the lake but is instead pointed at beach road. Maybe the camera operator is a icefisherman? Yesterday I saw portables out there on the webcam.

careful around NW Bay. open water at south end near the western shore, also open water from oahu island east and south(entrance to narrows). there is a narrow strip of ice from sawmill bay out to the point of tongue, but i don't think i'de trust it yet. arcady bay(Hague) north to rogers rock is open, at least on the west side.
this is all as of 3pm yesterday,1/31

I was wondering how the ice was out of Vets park. Is the Ice froze outside of the bay up and into the narrows? Is anybody out there with Atvs yet. I know that it has been windy, but it also has been pretty cold.

There was still open water in north west bay sunday and open water out at the narrows we where in the bay just outside of sawmill and we had 5" of good black ice. you just need to use a lot more CAUTION this year.

Sadly I have not been able to make it up to the King yet this year. I hope to make it up sometime early this week. I was wondering if the you can get up and into the narrows from Vet's park, or is it still open water outside the bay. Any info. would be appreciated.

Went yesterday out of Vet's fished off Crown, "did not measure the Ice" but it was around 6-7" conservatively. Mostly Good black ice, lot's of quads out there including myself.
Narrows are still open!!!! so if you go up there in the next couple of days and they are locked up I would stay away.
Marked fish all day, iced 2 decent laker's...biggest was 25.5" and all were put back.
Talked to a bunch of guy's and it seemed pretty consistent with everybody picking up around 2-4 fish.
Still a good current out there so leave your tippers home or weight them down with at least 1/2-3/4 oz. and with a couple extra yards of line out then you think you need.
