Yep, I'm ready! Starting to check in more frequently. Still some great fly-fishing on the rivers and some jigging on the reservoirs to be enjoyed the rest of the fall.

Too much fall to get ready for the ice some of the best boat fishing of the year, plus hunting.

Ive had ice fishing dreams for a month now.  Im ready
I have  been dreaming since Febuary 20th. The last day I was on the ice.

Since, I bought two 4'9" heavy action ugly sticks and two line counter equipted Daiwa smaller sized trolling reels. They are spooled with #10 P-line.
I also bought a Cabelas super-dooper self inflating life vest.  Aannnddd...a Navionics program for my Iphone. We are loaded for bear this time around.

Hopefully, I will get off to a better season than last years cold and flu season that lasted most of the early and middle season for me.

Anyone have any ideas on putting a couple of 2" golden willow  blades as attractors a foot above a 3/8's oz white or luminescent 4"tube jig?

Yes, the bow opener in NY was Sept 27.  As I sat there sweating in 80 degree heat, I was thinking the exact same thing!  Bring on the cold!

The boat fishing is good so I have mixed feelings.  2 walleyes over 7lbs (released), some nice eaters, big perch, carp and a real nice rock.

There was ice covering the small Burlington Lake this morning. Water looks to be less that 1'. Started building a ice fishing rod, finished elk hunting. Starting to get in the mood!

No rush, you have another 4-6 weeks before any ice to speak of. By the way I have 3 ice rods built, 3 more to wrap.

Finished my ice rod. Stripping down a couple more rods. List starting to grow. Saw Ice fishing pics from Colorado makes me think a recon trip to the Bighorns might be in order!

You guys have had good fishable ice for over a week now.  Go get it!

That was my Colorado report by the way.  Most years I can get on in October without too much work.

Dear Angry beaver;
For your first post, WOW, ice report, you will go far  here grass hopper...err...angry beaver.

Oops, thank you for being proud enough of where you are from to share that with all of your new list friends....now we know you are not an incarcerated felon looking for a manly-man to fish with.
