al, just remove the S from the hyper link so it looks like this HTTP: instead of HTTPS:

this site doesn't support the ssl link that postimage and imgur and others use.

if it doesn't work out for you, try postimage.org
super easy site to use.
also, imgur doesn't allow 3rd party hosting and postimage does.

I might be on to something here. looks like the last attempt worked. I had been clicking on the link itself on imgur, and not on the "copy" part. I'll try another.

if your just getting started with imgur, you might check out postimage.org because imgur will give you links for 3rd party use, but it is against their terms like it is at photobucket. it has always been against photobuckets terms as well.

photoimage allows the 3rd party links like your doing now from imgur, but if/when imgur finds out, they have the right to trash things like photbucket is doing.

super easy to navigate and easy to get the share links right from each picture. you click the the 3 dot triangle looking icon and the share links appear with their description as to what each one is for.
they also have the editing tools like resize as you drop in your images.
you can drop an entire folder onto their web page and it will resize and upload all at one time. it doesn't get any easier than that.

hopefully imgur doesn't get like photobucket and ruin many pictures shared on the web.

No problem Uncle Al, I just might have to look into postimage.org thanks 3300. I hope imgur don't pull the same crap photobucket did, we'll see. Lots of IS members will be scrambling soon to find a pic hosting site that's for sure

When I click on the 3 dot triangle looking icon, this drops down with other things, which one do I use for the forum there is a number of them.

direct link is what you want to use.
remember to remove the letter S from the hyper link after you paste it in here.

you can use hot keys to paste here. just use the keys ctrl and the letter V at the same time after you click the add image icon to paste on this site.
i prefer hot keys over right click and pasting.

al, you have to click the second row and first icon on this page at the top first that says insert image (when you rest your mouse over the icon) and then paste in between this

where the two brackets come together and looks like this ][. after you click insert image icon you can just paste it where your cursor should be blinking and it is ready for the hot key command of ctrl and V pressed at the same time.

some one posted imgur terms here a while ago when people were looking for new hosts. it was on the general section. they took an image of it and put it up here for all of us. that is what i'm going on.
i don't have an account on imgur tho because of that post when i was looking for a new host also. so if it's wrong, then i'm wrong.

the postimage host i found in a state section here (connecticut i think it was) with people mentioning how well it works and it works much easier than photobucket. i get zero ads and they do allow 3rd party hosting and super easy to upload folders full of photos and when you log-in it asks if you want to rezise before dropping photos.

i know i'd rather be safe than sorry again (photobucket).

Imgur Terms of Service say this:

"Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network. If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it."

Not sure, picked it up at a yard sale this summer, that's where the pic was taken. I'd have to go look, but I think it's aluminum.

so reading about this on the web i see that the millions of photobucket users will be seeking another photo hosting site, that many will be on sites like the ones in our conversation and the ones that said no hosting to other site will be banned may begin enforcing their rules because of the spill over and the much added bandwidth encountered because of it.
