« on: Aug 22, 2017, 08:27 PM »
I know it is not ice season, but I have a work trip to Kenai in the end of September and looking for any info on charters. I will be coming for 6 days but only have to work one so want to take full advantage of this trip from Buffalo, NY.  Thanks for any help. Best contact is email. [email protected].

Yep, Doorman1 is correct.  Your best bet heading that direction.  Just got back from a trip to the spit and there was plenty of action up and down the Kenai.

Well today is the day. Leaving in 4 hours. Will be in anchorage at 2:30. Can't wait. Going to Kenai to work for 8 hours ant staying for 6 days. Not bad for a talented western New Yorker. Ready to drift boat on the Kenai River for some nice bows and silvers. Thanks for the info

I ended up getting out on a halibut charter. One of the last of the season on Saturday. Got my under at 27" and my over at 39". Great day in Homer. With all the rain fir 2 1/2 weeks before I arrived made for some bad Kenai River fishing. All I. All a great trip. Thanks for info on charters. Back on in two months for ice season in New York. Hoping for a cold winter.

I love it when it's super high!!!!!!
It separates the men from the boys!!!!   ;D
Even when it's flooding big time like it did this year when the Drift River Glacier pothole lake dam blew it still fishes great.
You just need to adjust your tactics because the fish are in totally different places than when the river is at normal flows.
There are still spots to walk in and The Russian fishes awesome when the Kenai is that high.
