So, I have been pondering building a temp sleeper shack (skid-house). My big issue is space. I have a 5'x10' trailer. So my shack can only be 4'10" wide by 10' long. I have the floor plan pretty well figured out and i want to do fold up bunks, or at least the bottom bunk.
I want it to be able to sleep at least 2 people. Anybody have any ideas on types of bunks to build so there is max room avail while fishing? i was thinking the bottom bunk to be like half fold out so it works like a bench then when your ready, flip out the bench so it doubles in size if that makes sense?
I plan to build to last (steel siding, foam board, Rubber roof) but will be using 2x2 for the walls. So the top bunk will need 2x4 bracing all the way to the floor
Anybody ever run into there shack blowing over due to being so narrow? that is another thing i am worried about.
Also on the skids, if my only option is wood, are two notched out 2x6's on each side the cats meow?
