We lost a good one...
« on: Jul 22, 2017, 09:57 AM »

I'm sorry to say that Snopro left us last night.  He was a great friend, husband, father, and grandfather.  And he sure loved the folks on this forum.

Rest in peace, my friend.

R.I.P buddy. I enjoyed my interactions with him. He always had good advice when someone asked . He was the kind of guy any forum would be proud to call a member.

Very sad news indeed. My condolences to his family and fishing buddies.

The first time I met him was at a meet & greet at Hermon. He came over and drove BEE & I to the fishing grounds, invited us in to his elaborate fish house.

Met him again last year at Cabela's, getting ice fishing gear. What a great jovial guy.

Sorry to hear that. I don't know of another member on here you could talk about with such reverence, even to people who know nothing of the site.  The floating shack and everything about Hermon pond was a blast to read about.

One of a Kind without a doubt. .Ron introduced me to the warm water species ice-fishing affliction a few years back and of course made the introduction to SnoPro. My Wife asked about my new friends at the pond and I best described him as Tony From Gold Rush. Little Gruff til he decided just what sort of fool you were but always willing to lend a hand and share a beer and a laugh. (often at .Rons expense)
The Circus will go on- but it will never be quite the same-

MG39 just called me. Wow, not the news I wanted to hear. Just talked to him last week. He was ranting about something. Surely will be missed where I live. Best to Nathan and all the family. I plan on being at the service and having a couple bud lights later.

I first met Ron on Herman pond the year before I joined here. Hermon pond wasn’t fished much for crappy then. Usually it was just me, an older fellow with a black sled and a black dog and a couple guys in a red truck about a hundred yards east of us.

One day I lost the bolt the holds the bit on my  old Strikemaster. I walked over to the red truck guy to see if he had a nail, or screw or anything that could keep me fishing. He had the exact right bolt!.....I had some mousies with me and gave him a few... Bye and bye I found IS and joined. Not long after that Snopro was on talking about the guy he met on Hermon Pond that had mousies and if anyone new where ehe could get some. I guess that’s when Ron and I started to become friends. I haven’t gone to Hermon pond for the dink crappy in quite a while, but Ron was a good reason to get out there!

We’ll miss ya Buddy!  :angel :icefish:

Good knowing you, Ron Carter! ! Maybe you could do a little haunting once in a while  ;D

The Circus will sure be something else without the ringleader. Snopro was a special individual. 2nd time I met him I was headed out to my shack (which was super heavy and hard to pull) that was in near shore. I couldn't find it though, till I noticed a yellow Commander on tracks hauling it out to the middle. I followed him out, unhooked the shack with .Ron, and he opened his window and said "No fish in there you damn fool, I'll show you how to catch fish!" That he did when he showed me how to jig crappie in luxury.

Snopro was no saint, but was always good for conversation, a beer, and a good time. He helped me alot in the brief time I had with him and was always willing to supervise and give his advice! Many sayings, name calling, stories, and experiences will certainly be missed!
