I'm not really in the market but will be interested to hear how the new M Series function and hold up.  Might have missed it but I wonder what msrp is on the 5.

I've been reading on In-depth outdoors forum and there was mention of $699 to $799 for the M5. James Holst mentioned the Lithium battery shuttle can be purchased separately for around $250.

I like their new jigs and the M-series.  I wonder if the shuttle comes with a protective case or if it'll work with the existing soft sided cases.  The one thing I don't understand is why they're only making the single beam version of the Showdown, doesn't make any sense to me.  I have the dual beam version and as much as I like it I highly doubt I'd buy it if the only option at the time was a single beam.  I can't imagine what they're thinking with this idea.

It does not come with a soft sided case, nor does it fit in the existing cases.  Meant to be stand alone.

That sucks.  I'm sure a lot of guys would want it to have a case to protect it especially considering the price they're charging for it.

I see your point.. Its shaped so it fits in the bucket for protection on longer moves, which is better than a soft case I'd say,  just hole hopping around you don't really need a case?  It's not for everyone though, including myself :) I got other things needing upgrading first.

I always keep my flasher in the case when hole hoppin and using it, I work too hard for my money not to protect my stuff.  Yeah it's nice it fits in a bucket but buckets take up a good amount of room that I can use for other gear.

I also don't like having my flasher exposed to the wet snowy  conditions even tho they  are made for it..a case would be nice with those price tags I'm still not interested in them.at  least marcum  ditched those repair yearly cheap flasher motor models tho.
