You guys sure caught a mess of those devils. Brings back good memories of the hundreds I caught years ago at Sebago, out of my shack & Carroll Cuttings. I still have a bag full of hand made jig sticks but the majority of them was caught with a single spring board, a large Kinsey hook, tipped with bait. Sometime you should try the heart of the whitefish, tipped on a hook.The heart is located on the bottom side of the fish, in the "v" between the gills. A shallow incision will reveal the heart with a short membrane on the tip, which will move as an attraction when jigged. Back then there was no limit, we caught what we wanted to eat and enjoyed catching and releasing. Then the togue arrived and started the decline of both whitefish and salmon.
