Spring Brookie's
« on: Apr 02, 2017, 10:54 AM »

I started this ice season 12-17-2016 and ended today 4-2-2017. I got 3 Brookie's this morning and had another 3 flags with missing bait.I hated to leave when the fish were still biting but I got to close to shore and fell in. The fools day snow covered over some soft ice and I became the fool.I was able to get my arms on good ice and pull myself up.I picked up my remaining gear and hiked it out. It could of been a lot worse and more embarassed then anything.

Glad to hear you didn't get hurt and got out ok. Other than that, decent few brookies to end the season.

I'm making the switch to open water now. I went to cabellas and bought some nymphs, long tail, hares ear, copper john and Prince. After this 10" of snow melts off and the rivers settle I will give it a go.

Nice brookies.  Going for a dip would end my season as well.

I wanted to get out one more time but not sure with all this rain on top of slushy snow soon to be followed by warm weather.  If I go out, it won't be on a solo trip I don't think.
