Another Deformed Laker Photo.
« on: Mar 27, 2017, 09:16 PM »
I landed this poor little bugger, I thought I was hauling in a much bigger fish. Poor thing couldn't swim his way down the hole with that gimped up tail. I see other posts of similar fish on here, suggesting whirling disease. But I also saw mention of something called Lordosis which is just a spine disease, people get it too. Anyone know for sure?

A couple seasons ago I caught a rainbow that was very similar to that. I was told it had the disease that deforms the spine.

We fish a small pond .10 acres or so and always catch and release,I've caught the same fish twice that has the same look as that laker and friends have a time or two as well over a 4 Year period..it was over 2 pounds the first time and is pushing 5 now.Gimps as he's known around here don't swim well but eats very well!!
