Stunning day on the big lake

Spent a good part of the day with Diggs and a few friends on winni, It took some work but we caught tons of fish. This is the first time I fished the big lake this year.. crazy cool. And believe it or not this is the first Smallie I've caught ice fishing... great day... still plenty of ice, but check for yourself (safety first)

We need to fish winni more often

Fished Winni this weekend, and if I didn't have to work or had plan for next weekend, I'd still be up there!

Plenty of ice where I fished, and locked up right to the shore, so access wasn't an issue.

Got a nephew out on the ice for his first time ice fishing, and he got first fish both days, although they were small yellow perch.
He did get some small white perch as well, but topped the day Sat with some jumbo yellows (females loaded with eggs) which he released.
W also got a couple jumbo whites, which we will be eating!!!

Nice! Winni is a nice place for sure. I'm glad I started fishing it this year!

Nice batch of whites! Shocked on how few people are out on winni fishing. Best time of year with longer days, warm afternoons, and after work jigging.
