Jackson NH update - March 2017
« on: Mar 12, 2017, 09:09 PM »
Went up to Jackson area this weekend. As an update, the lakes in the region still held good ice: 14-17 inches. The bite was decent in the morning from just before sunrise to about 10:30 am. Keep in mind today the clocks shifted...

After that it totally turned off and we left mid-afternoon and thus can't comment on the evening activity. One fish taken on a jog head with grub, another (almost) taken on a silver phoebe with grub. Both in about 9-15 fow.

Out of respect for the residents, I won't say a specific lake but it was one of the ones south of Conway. Beautiful region and a beautiful blue bird day. Can't ask for much more and given the weather conditions I would imagine there could be a few more weekends worth before things start to wind down.

Would be interested if anyone has been able to find think ice in Western Mass or if it's been too tropical down there...

Welcome to the "ICESHANTY" !!
There is a NH section you can post this in.
I'm sure the mods will move it anyway.
