"Braved" the cold today at China

OK, not exactly braving the cold when you're fishing from a 70 degree living room, but glad I gave it a run this morning.  Caught a decent pickerel, 20" and pretty fat, and this largemouth.  Hand measurement put it at 20-21" and I'm guessing 4 lbs.  Which could mean it was only 3 or as big as 5... :)

Not the greatest video, but kind of cool to see a couple of eagles screeching, fighting for the pickerel snack that I left for them on the ice...

When I first saw the title to this thread, I thought who the hell would fish China Lake in these low temps and winds. Then I saw you were fishing from a nice warm camp. That's the way to do it.
Nice pics and video.

Yeah, it took me almost an hour to decide whether I wanted to set any even though I knew I could watch them from inside.  Still only set two traps and that turned out to be enough.

Nice pic and video.  Just pumping a tank of gas was an eye opener day.  Congrats for working those 2 traps with success.

Just stepping outside at all was braving it.  Glad you had a nice place to hunker down and be comfortable while still catching a couple nice fish.
