A perch from sweden
« on: Mar 11, 2017, 02:19 AM »
Had a good day fishing with my sons last weekend, and we caught some nice perch, the one in the picture is 15" and weighs 2lbs. Fish of this size are not very common around here, so those of this size and bigger is all released so they can spawn and hopefully add to an increasing stock of nice size perch.

My goal is to catch a perch of 4-5lbs, I know they are down there, as I´ve seen them from time to time. A buddy caught several in that weight range this fall jigging just before the ice formed.

Thanks. We usually have safe ice until the end of april.

Very nice fish. And if you catch that monster 4-5lb, I'd love to see a picture of it.

I'll post a pic when I get it. I feel it's close, lost a big one yesterday, going out again tomorrow and probably a couple of times next week to...

Nice perch.  Hope you get the 4# one..30 yrs ago wife and I got into some 17 1/2" perch in Canada.. I'm sorry now that I never mounted a couple of them.  We ended up catching 53 of them.  Keep a few and released the rest.
