What was your best catch this season?

I had a goal of catching my first laker this season and accomplished that. A big thank you to JMailbox8 for helping with that one. I got into some smelt which I hadn't attempted before this season and did really well on trout, both in VT and over in NH. Hoping to make it out again around here but I hear the fat lady singing....what was the most memorable catch for the rest of you folks this season??

Same. Caught my first laker, plus a bunch more. Also got turned on to smelt and man were they tasty. I usually ignored them unless I needed one for bait. Wish I had found more perch.

Me either!  A fair amount of lakers but nothing over 20".  Still have a few days left though...

I was lukcy enough to catch 2 Master Angler fish : 25" pickerel & 13" yellow perch. Put lots of perch in the freezer as well.  And... ice season doesn't appear to be finished yet!

Lol I used to commercial rod and reel striper fish before they took a nose dive. Accountant for fish totals sounds like cutting into your own profits...

For me a 22 inch large mouth and a 23 inch bow. First rainbow through the ice.

My comment was totally tongue and cheek! My best catch was accompanying an 84 year old gentleman with two new knees this season (his wife would not let him fish alone this year) that can outlast and out fish most of us on this forum. I guess I would look at him as a legend... in my mind anyway.

I only got out 5 times this year! Hoping for 1 more this weekend. My personal best catch was a surprise 26" lake trout on 2lb line and an ultralight rod. Got very wet tail grabbing it through the transducer hole when my buddy couldn't get his head through the other hole. Had a very successful pike and bass trip with a buddy who had never ice fished. Got some other friends in to their first ice lakers and first ever smelt.

I figured....and amen.  In that regard my 4 year old daughter jigging perch with me in the otter trumps all the fish I've landed.  Good on you for making the gentleman's wife a little less nervous.
