Re: who likes white perch? ( time to thin them out) FREE PERCH

I have a couple people lined up that want some but I'm always looking for more. Anybody?

If my brother, my sister and I go out on my boat we pull in 500 perch a night, there for 6 days that means 3,000 perch. I think it would help.

Your going to need a big smoker !!!!

As a kid I camped up on the Harrison end of the lake with my family . Us kids would take the canoes out just before dusk to a rock pile out off of shore next to deeper water . At dusk we could get white perch every cast . Anything that flashed was good . I liked Al's goldfish . That was back late 70s . It doesn't sound like much has changed .

The truth is a lot of fishermen are really not fishermen . What they think is bad is open up a drink and not have time to drink it , because they have to reel in fish all the time. In Maine they fish for trout because they have lots of time to drink.

These poor fisherman have the same problem .

Wow, that actually is a bad one too. At least they are doing it right with not allowing them to be released. Then there's our country that imported their brown trout and stocked them all over the place.

Maine should have a law like that for illegally introduced species.

Pretty sure i know the rock pile you're talking about. The owner of als goldfish is my neighbor! They Love them. i get them every cast with a worm and bobber right under a mooring.

200 A night! i could probably get 500 a day. I can give you tips for open water but for ice I'm pretty blind in the white's department. 25 ice fishing seems like a good day to me.

Maine should have a law like that for illegally introduced species.
Most people do it anyways depending on the body of water

I was wondering about that. I don't know what the British are calling chubs. Is it the same fish we know as chubs?

White Bass are a lot better eating than Rainbows, Some fishermen just don't eat enough fish.( BRAIN FOOD) The thing I like about catching W perch is you don't have to measure or release  or stop after 2 fish.

I don't want to dampen your spirits on the removal of the perch but considering that it is over ten miles long and in excess of 5,000 acres, you & all your helpers won't even put a dent in that lake. Those little perch were there over 60 years ago that I know of and will be there in another 60 years. The reported egg laying of an average clutch size of 23,000 eggs pretty much sums it up.
But, have fun anyway. ;D

Looks an awful lot like a Fallfish, but not the same species. Hope they smell better than the Fallfish though.
