That's not cool Rat. But who would have thunk that inclement weather in February meant consistent mid 50* temperatures....

For those of you around them, do you think that the extended cold this week will create safe ice for fishing this weekend on LOTI or eel bay? We invested in a lot of new equipment last year and want to use it! But, dont want to die either. Thanks!

Let's see, last wednesday a 4 wheeler went thru at Eel bay after the person was told the ice was no good.  One out of two guys got wet yesterday going thru thin ice on Eel bay.  Yes it has been cool and did make some ice but its not good.  Snow on Tuesday night so you won't be able to see where you are walking.  You make the call

I checked a couple of shallow water bays yesterday ( 2-3 ft) just to see how the ice formed near us after a that last cold spell.  2 shots with the spud and I was through almost everywhere.  Maybe 1.5 inches.

Put 8-10" of snow on top and I'd say it's time to pack it in. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be open water fishing either - in the next 10 days we barely break freezing on only a couple of days.

Well we will see what happens.  Another 4 wheeler on Eel bay today and the one that went thru a week and a half ago is still there.  It will be interesting to see if this one makes it off this evening.

Took a drive this afternoon went to LOI whole center wide open not a sole around then went to eel bay looked from shore open spots for sure only seen 3 people that were fishing then drove to goose bay and out to krings point looked like a few open spots out towards center and to left of boat launch one guy out of goose bay. I didn't see any ice that interested me I will wait hopefully in a week or so we will have boats in, krings was open before that cold snap a week ago cant be much I wouldn't think

We got out on 5" of sketchy white ice today (not Eel Bay or LOTI but nearby)/.  Not great, but we were fishing really shallow water hoping to get some fish moving into shallow water.

They didn't cooperate.  :(
