any ice?

      is 4th lake or 7th lake (n.y.) still fishable on the ice? I'm thinking of going there this coming weekend if it's still got ice. Thanks--

Yup. It's still good on 7th. I read in the reports and conditions thread that the ice on 4th held up pretty good as well.. around 12 inches good black ice and 6 inches of white ice on top. There is some crap weather forecasted mid week but then cold again I think it will hold up just fine

On the Fulton Chain of lakes thread for reports and conditions there has been a few recent posts.. it sounds like the shoreline is in ok shape, but obviously it is the first thing to go out.. I imagine its a bit soft but it's gonna get damn cold for a couple days/nights after Wednesdays rain everything should tighten back up nicely.

There are some nice brook trout in their.  We have had good luck at the mouth of a little brook that runs into the pond when the ice starts breaking up.  Fish bottom with worms.

Debating weather or not I want to fish 7th this weekend.. the ice looks a lot different than it did on Sunday when I was on it.. the shoreline has opened up in places.. hoping this cold snap will allow me to get out there one last time. I used to set up a plank and go out late in the season, but I learned the hard way to not do that.
