Has anyone been out today or late yesterday? Wondering how it is fairing.

Was there Thursday and there was 8" black ice with 8" crap on top of it.  Planning on going back tomorrow, I'll post what we find.

If it is anything like the central vt trout lake I spent the weekend on, the weather more than likely knocked the snow down, and then yesterday melted the slush which then drained through old holes leaving a couple inches of water and a crust after last nights freeze up. We saw only a tiny loss in total ice over from thursday on the lake i was on and the black ice stayed the same.

Was out there today. Plenty of ice except near where the streams come in it was thin. Should be good all week as it was building today. Slush is only a couple of inches as compared to last weeks knee deep slush.

Fished Caspian today, measured same ice depths as last Thursday, 8" good black ice and 8" crap on top, still good for awhile.  Going back tomorrow.
