Years ago when fishing a well known trout impoundment when my buddy and I noticed a couple of fisherman throw a fish on the bank. Curiosity got the best of us, so we approached the two and struck up a conversation. We discovered the two were from another state, and they had caught two suckers that they had thrown on the bank. I walked over and saw they were in fact suckers. I asked the two if they were sure they were suckers, and both replied they were. I told them with a straight face that they needed to check the refs again because they looked a lot like the coveted "golden trumpet-nosed trout", and were very tasty. They asked if I was sure, and I replied I was. My buddy and I could hardly contain our laughter as we walked away watching them put the suckers on their stringer. I often wondered if they ever found out they were really suckers? 😆
