I've jigged them up other places but never jigged up a lake trout on winni.... But after close to 10 years of trying I finally broke the ice!!
 And then I literally broke the ice....  ...
PLEASE!!!! Everyone who ventures out be very mindful of where your stepping or where you ride it's not worth potentially losing your life over a fish... Although I saw the hole before walking over and breaking through with my boot to show my brother the hazards we will not be facing the rest of the season... This hole was much wider under the thin white crust... With 18 inch of ice around it....

Good call on the ice survey. Generally speaking where were you on the lake?

 I was on winter harbor... This hole is was about 400 yards out from carry beach im guessing it's from derby weekend..

Thanks for the report Goggls, nice fish! I was out yesterday and I saw at least one shanty hauled off, many more were beached.....
