Hope I'm not SOL-
« on: Feb 22, 2017, 02:04 PM »
Our crew rents a place right on the water in the Gut, we are going up next Thursday and hoping to fish Friday and Saturday. All along I have been thinking we would be ok ice wise but now I guess it depends on the rain and warm. We haven't ever had to cancel cause of ice before- Anyone know current gut conditions? Any snow to shield any of this or is it all gone? Good ice or already punky?

Thanks in advance!

Carl

Snow is all gone from the Gut at this point, so the ice is at the mercy of the temps / sun / rain that is coming.  I believe there is still 8-10" of ice on the Gut .... hopefully it hangs on for you!

Bring your summer gear and fish under the draw bridge.

I've actually caught salmon there early spring.

When I fished there a couple days ago the fishing was really good, but the ice was making all kinds of noise and it was all clear ice. At least where I was.
