How's the ice holding up on Magog and South Bay? Any predictions for this weekend's fishing derby?

South bay is in horrible shape.
I'm skipping the derby this year.

General consensus this afternoon in the kindom was 10" of slush and water. Going to be miserable going this weekend unless you fish on stilts like bread and puppet.

On my way to work this morning I noticed that Crystal was starting to look like it could open any time. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't open in spots by the end of the day today.

Man, the NEK was my last hope for safe water this weekend. Might have to hang up the short rods and get out the fly rod.

Seymour off the beach had a bunch of shanties still on her. I went out on ice couple miles from the beach and found 8-9 inches of good ice Sat morning 10am. 55 degrees and windy conditions had to take its toll. I am thinking I am done for this season.
Don't forget your spud, shore ice is getting crappy.

I checked seymour this morning there was 6" of ice all white bubble filled junk except for maybe 1" of good ice.
I would not recommend going out.
