Ice Thickness on Sebago
« on: Feb 22, 2017, 07:46 AM »
How much ice is there on Sebago right now.  Looking to do some fishing.  If that isn't safe does anyone have an idea as to how much ice is on Trickey Pond?

The 3 minute walk in should only deter someone in a wheelchair

Earlier this year we fished there and there was probably 5 trucks parked on the side of the road because no one could get in. At the end of the day no one had a ticket on their truck.

I checked it this morning in a couple of spots just to see what's there before it all gets covered by snow.  I hope no one sees a fresh blanket of white and decides to go zooming around on a snowmobile tomorrow.  Area I checked had mostly 4-6" of pretty good ice, but there were also 2' wide cracks barely covered by 1/2" of ice and seemingly random patches of open water in the middle of otherwise good ice.  Fine today when you can see what you're walking on, but a very different story tomorrow.
