if you could only have 5 lures or jigs...

If you were to be targeting perch, bluegill and crappies in a new lake with moderately stained water and up to 20' FOW and could only bring 5 lures or jigs, what type and what colors would you bring?  what type of live bait if any would you bring?

Also, what would you typically start with and what would your approach be both in terms of sequence of presentation if the fish were marking but not biting?

Couple of things to know ...Early,Mid or Late season .... water clarity ...stained water ...clear . I would stick with minnow and perch patterned lures ...in both vertical and horizontal presentations....rattl e and glow options  ...are we targeting the crappie at night ? Waxies and spikes for bait.

A small gold tungsten jig a small silver tungsten jig a small glow tungsten jig a glow slender spoon and a jigging rapala firetiger with waxies.

Perch talker, a buckshot rattle spoon with dropper chain, red gamakstu octopus hook with minnows, a tungsten jig and a puppet minnow. Don't forget the minnow/heads and spikes

Some type of spoon,Forage minnow, Cast master,Slender spoon. I like Checki,gill pills,Ratso's and  a lot of different plastics. I fish more with plastic than bait.

Pk flutter fish, PK spoon,Fiskas wolfram tungsten, Brantner tungsten and Northland moxie minnow.
Again pretty much plastics for me.

i'm with light liner on this one....you can"t go wrong with any pk lure...thats why i own a bunch !

All would be tipped with spikes or wax worms or small chunk of a minnow.

Hali's work great for slabbers over here in Upstate & Western NY. Have to tinker with the colors here and there but they are hard to beat when the dropper chain is tipped with live bait.
