Ice Augers

Hey guys
I just bought an ION XC5
I have had it out on the ice twice
The first few holes on day one worked great,by 10-15 number of holes ,it really iced up and was laboring when cutting.
The power was good,just icing up
The second day,it seemed like it was just taking forever to get through!

I never hit anything so the knifes should be fine..
Any advise would be appreciated

Try keeping it in the shanty where it's warmer or keeping the battery warm some how

I believe some of the Ions had defective drill units causing icing ..Ion is replacing them... contact Ion .

Yes, the ION X bits had a problem with the finish on the black piece by the blades. ION will swap out the bit for you, just contact them and explain what happened. I had a new 8" bit within 4 business days.

Is the black finish by the blades a dull matte finish or gloss finish?
The paint doesn't explain it not cutting the second day though....
What was the ice conditions? Good hard ice or ice that was wet/slushy. It may of been laboring if it had to lift a lot of wet/slushy ice cuttings.

I contacted them and they sent me an entire new auger and blades
Not the upper , it worked great!
I can't believe they sent the whole bottom end , they even put it on the bird!!!!
I had it in 3 days
Will try it this weekend
