Walleye fishing
« on: Feb 18, 2017, 02:04 PM »
Where is still good to go for walleye coming from Rock Springs? My dad has leukemia, lived in Wyoming all his life but never caught a walleye. Keeps talking about it so was hoping I could find somewhere before ice off. Don't have a boat so sounds like ice fishing is our best option. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don't know how the ice is at Seminoe, but I believe it would be the most viable walleye water closest to Rock Springs. Hasn't been much posted on Seminoe this year either, as "Ice Fishing J" (Mr. All Things Seminoe) has been pretty quiet this year unfortunately, always enjoy his informative posts. He does well on open water too.

Thanks for the input, I was thinking maybe Seminoe but yea couldn't find any info on it. Grew up fishing the west side of the divide, so lost over there lol.

Boysen Reservoir, though a little further, would be another place to try for walleye. The ice seems to hold up pretty well there compared to other places. Ocean Lake also has walleyes.

Do you need a reservation tag to fish ocean?
