never any luck for walleye - fished the narrows last year, got a few pike.

almost too much walking for my liking.

Too bad a guy cannot fish any other lakes besides the main lake in the park during the winter.  It would be cool to set up for lakers on Kingsmere.  You're right Instro, the fact that you cannot drive on the lake or use a sled makes it really tough.

it's a great thing people can't drive on or sled/quad in the park after seeing all the trash everywhere else.

as for the walleyes i met an old gent a few years back icefishing the lake and in 52 years he'd caught one walleye in the winter over by birch bay.  pike fishing can be decent.  place to be if you love wormy tulibees.

I agree. The purity of the park is something to behold.  The fact that it gets basically zero pressure in the winter ensures good to great fishing every soft water season.  There are many lakes I'd love to explore.  I've canoed and fished Namekus.  Want to get into Kingsmere and that loop. I'd love to spend a few days on Crean way up in the north end.  One can always dream.

If you fish the lakes sticking out the west side of the park, you have great fishing and can use all your toys.
