Evening Walleye Trip
« on: Feb 15, 2017, 07:25 AM »

Good morning fellow hardwater fishers!!

A few of us are trying to get out on Mash on Monday for an evening trip focusing on walleye.  We figure we'll get there late afternoon and fish into the night.  Weather looks good for holding ice and mild evening on Monday.

Interest?

Mike

Unladylike cussing either way, if I can't go I'll be cussing not being able to go lol
Plan on bringing my jigging buddy tipups, they usually catch more than my other tipups because they move the bait a little with the wind and fit my home made tip up lights the best, but they are incredibly awkward to pack and taking them out is always a tangled mess of legs and flags so I'll be cussing that.

Sorry to do this.... but with the ice being the way it is and my son (11) FINALLY wants to fish with me....I'm going in the morning.  Not going to risk dark and crap ice.  We should be at the lake around 8:30-ish if you can make it.  I've the blue fishing box!

How is the ice? I'm hoping to be on Mashapuag in about an hour. Need to finish a few things and get some medium shiners at JT's.  :icefish:

I had a good time, two flags, caught one perch which means I outfished everyone. Was my best trip to Mashapaug yet. It doesn't look too likely that I'll get back there this winter.

Only swore a little bit as I was packing up and couldn't remember where I put my dawgbone tipup and it took me forever to find it.

Gary - The ice never got thick enough this year where I wanted to fish so I didn't make it down there. Hopefully next year will be better and the fish will be another year older and a little bit bigger. I just finished tapping the trees so another season starts!
