It seems to be a short season this year! I hope cold temps return so we all can enjoy a few more time on the ice. Be careful the ice is deteriorating quickly.

Temps are definately falling at the berry, hit single digits last night and already in the teens now. I just hope it stiffens that slush up

Well...if y'all run out of ice, come up north and join me and my cupcake! She slayed the landlocked king salmon at a local lake here on Saturday, often hooking and fighting the fish in before I even noticed she had something on the line! with +30" of solid clear ice, we're gonna be drilling holes for a few months still!

Sounds like your little one is having a ball up there johnny, kings thru the ice would be a ball. I think our ice is going to hold at a few places for now. I have no doubt yours will last longer

Good to hear from you Johnnycake. Good to hear the daughter is taking after her Dad. Just go ahead and drive on up huh? you lucky dog. Us guys in the lower 48 work our entire life in dreams and hopes and prayers to spend one week fishing in Alaska. And it's a way of life for you. I'm happy for you. Thanks for chatting back at us. Where is your location at I can always google and dream. Tight Lines.

She's literally a perfect daughter! My only complaint on these landlocked kings is that they are TINY with most maxing out at 14-16". But, the chance of a +5lbs char or big 'bow helps keep the interest alive!

C'mon up glen! The drive on the Alcan highway is only some 3,000 miles give or take a couple hundred! I'm living in Anchorage, and finding my best ice fishing about 30-40 mins north of town but there are tons of lakes in town that lots of guys do well at--just not me yet!
