Hello all,
Im looking to take a trip from Rochester this weekend with a snowmobile and all my gear and am wondering where the best ice that's closest to me to fish on would be?(willing to drive 2-3hrs).i usually only fish bays around Rochester and the finger lakes but have some free time to travel this weekend.any thoughts are greatly appreciated

We've got ice around Tupper Lake, but it's a further drive.  Check with locals on where it will be safe.

yes would definitely recommend, especially if you're going anywhere that has any current, to not stray off the beaten path at all with your snowmobile. there has been more than a couple machines through the ice that aren't mentioned in the links posted above

Mile arm bay on Black Lake had 12" of ice this past Saturday. About 3.5 hrs drive.

I've read that the north end of Conesus has at least 4-5 inches as of Monday.  I'll be taking a look this Sunday.
