How dedicated are you?
« on: Jan 27, 2017, 02:26 PM »
I'm sitting here in Muddy Creek parking lot waiting for the ice. Wonder ho long it's gonna be. Brought my sleeping bag.

Is it all open? I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it might be ready by next weekend if the snow stays off of it. If it caps Monday night or something and gets a couple inches of snow on it then that'll probably kill it.

I'm constantly thinking about ice fishing, looking for new gear and tinkering with my gear all year long.  Once the ice comes I'm on it as much as I can be.

I'm thinking that is the definition of devotion.

I don't know if this is counted as dedication or insanity.  Had a metal futon and tried to give it away.  Well after a week and it did not get taken, I thought that would make a nice large fairly light weight ice fishing sled.

I don't miss the ice at all.  Not, that is, since I traded all my ice fishing gear for season tickets to the opera and a stamp collection...

Just stepped into 12 inches water with my muck boots to get on ice to see if it would break…didn't break.

This is the first weekend since before Christmas that I won't be on the ice. Lots of fuel burnt. Not even excited for steelheading but it's closer than ice right now

When we get safe ice here in sepa. I go out every day if possible. I was out once. This year.  Chomping at the bit to get out again. Funny. Last winter we had a short window of ice.  Yet I got out like 25 times & ate alot of fish  :icefish:

Crossing my fingers that all of the snow forecasted today and overnight melts into the water and gives us a quick couple of inches by Thursday am.  This weekend will be really sketchy even if that happens.   Should have 4" or 5" by early next week though.  Pray to the ice Gods!  ;D

I've always worried about the guy.  ;D I drove by Yellow Creek Saturday, it was wide open. We have to get out this year on the soft water.
