Pathfinder "HAWG" Derby Who's going
« on: Jan 20, 2017, 09:29 AM »
Just seeing who all will be going, Its next weekend on the 28th and 29th. Looks like weather is gonna be good and last I checked ice is a good 8" to 12" everywhere we checked. I did not get out last weekend to check but I've heard its still holding around the same. Just remember there is no such thing as SAFE ice. I've already contacted the county and they told me they would start clearing the roads Monday so hopefully midweek all is good. Been lots of reports of several nice trout being cought and a few walleye out the the sweetwater area already. Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year, Its gonna be another great Derby. See you all thats going next week end when you bring me your catch to weigh in. Good Luck and be Safe.
Randy

I am planning to fish the tournament for the first time and had a couple questions after reviewing the rules. Is there an age limit for contestants? (I am planning  to take my teenage nephew) i see the derby starts at 7am, I assume that means fish caught before 7 am are not allowed to be weighed in?

There are no age restrictions. all G&F rules apply, And your right on the fish caught prior to the start time, That is more of an Honor thing of course, we have no way of telling what time a fish is caught.
Thanks

But believe me, everyone around you will know!
I'd rather do it on the ice

Thanks Randy, I appreciate the clarification. My dignity is worth more than winning so I play by the book.

Out this year.   Working :(

I'll say this there is the normal pressure ridge off the bishops boat ramp with open water.  Was up the sweet water arm a few miles and measured 17" and moved closer to a point and it dropped to 12".

So as always, be safe out there.
