I haven't used an arm in years.  Works fine hanging straight down and doesn't get in the way.

buy a marcum arm. gander mountain sells them as does marcum. don't forget to get the round wedge stopper that fits it. wrap the cable around the arm if it wants to slip.

It does, but when its cold and the hole is freezing shut it will freeze the cord right in. hence the float or a holder to keep it close but off the ice hole side t
so it doesnt freeze in.

There is a fellow on Facebook that makes replacement arms for Humminbird ice 55’s and Marcum’s. The company name is MasterCraftFishing, not sure he makes them for your unit or not but it never hurts to ask. I have never purchased or dealt with him but it may be a possible option for you.

Vexilar cable support arm, part# FS0011. Use a 1/2 flat faucet washer as a spacer.

Marcum sells the arm separately from their website.

There is a guy on Etsy who makes arms out of aluminum. I just bought one for my Showdown after breaking the plastic one for a second time. I paid $40 for the arm. Works great.

I bought both the jumbo arm and the ducer plate from master craft. No problems at all, and good quality stuff!

No fish in a wheel house when it's cold and if happens a lot. Simple fix is to boil water in a pot on the stove. Dump down hole to melt ice and free cord.
