Not heard much of late.  My only concern with that area is the big winds and if the fields in the area start to drift after the snow melts.

Dirt and grit on the ice and there goes your blades.

Let us know how it is.  Last I heard there was 12 to 15 inches ice.

I was at CVR yesterday, solid smooth ice! Drove on, didn't spend much time out there though.

Almost no flood water.

Thanks for the update Sundance, heading out in the morning. Any idea how thick the ice is?

I honestly didn't measure with a tape, but it was a solid 16"+ of ice.

Thanks again Sundancedan,  We went to CVR this morning and ice was just like you said, Solid and smooth, with no surface water. Ice was roughly 20+ `where we were.  Temperature was between -7 and +1 with a wind blowing about 12 KPH.
Had a fantastic day, Caught a total of 11 fish plus hooked up to about 6 others. Out of the 11 there were 10 pike ranging from 20 to 27 inches plus 1 Walleye measured 17 inches. at one time we had a triple header. one inside the tent and the 2 tippets outside. Thats when we caught the Eye. Did take pictures, but most turned out too blurry.
Hey Shotgun, Ice conditions were really good. Only found 1 patch of snow with dirt and grit about 4 feet round. rest was smooth as silk.

Tight lines  :icefish:

Sounds like a fun day! I only managed to ice 1 small but fat pike when I was there.
