Are these any good to eat???

Since they closed down willow slough for ice fishin i had to find other waters to fish. So last weekend i went a little drive and tried a new lake...Heard that there were perch in this BOW so i wanted to check it out since i had about 100 wigglers left from gill fishin and didn't want them to go to waste. These pictures were from 2 days of fishin. I fished the same 2 holes both days but on day 2, I only had minnows. I guess you know where i'm going with this. I just thought that the perch would eat a minnow...wrong...All fish were caught on a flat in 36ft. of water, tight to the bottom, on a small tungsten jig...tried a variety of spoons and other baits like jiggin raps when the bite was on and the fish had absolutely 0 interest.

You can't show that many fish and then the fillets without the finished product...that's just plain cruel!

really wasn't a trip...the lake is about an hour drive...as far as that Michigan shirt...no sentimental value..a buddy of mine left it in my truck back when i lived in Minnesota

Yikes...   That ice is probably half that or less now.  Not good when you auger a hole and it comes out in chunks making the hole look like someone drawing a circle with their eyes closed.  Nice haul!!!

Awesome catch, I hope you can do that again someday.  That picture of the ice scares the crap out of me and I'm on the couch!!!  You couldn't get me on that ice for 100 of those perch.

Is that the eggs off to one side in your picture? If so do you eat the roe or use for some type of bait?

yes sir, they are all perch eggs. Only 2 of the perch I had cleaned were males. I dont eat or use the eggs for anything. Also at the depth I was fishing, the perch would always puke up their air bladder and the crappies came up the hole about dead and didnt fight. Once i had my limit of crappies, I had to quit fishing since i would not be able to send them back down the hole.

Nice mess of perch! I find amazing that you were pulling crappie that deep and hugging the bottom, I bet this guy got a few pm's in the last couple days
