Ice
« on: Jan 18, 2017, 01:44 PM »
So there is 2 inches of rain at the bank of my lake and the ice around the bank is 11 inches and for the next week the temperature will be over 32 degrees and there will be slight rain and the next time that the temperature will be 32 and under will be the 27. Will it be safe then or will I have to wait.

every lake freezes and thaws different.  nobody can tell you exactly what will happen.  be vigilant, where safety spikes around your neck.  drill holes every handful of feet or use a spud bar.

My advice is go with your gut instinct.  I've went before and just had this weird feeling as i was getting ready to go on the ice something told me not worth it.  So packed up and went back home safe. They'll always be another day.
