Marcum Showdown Case
« on: Jan 18, 2017, 10:27 AM »
I hate the case that came with my Showdown. Does anybody have some pics of a case they may have made that works better?

i know the fabric gets stuck to the ice so you put it in  tupperware that fits it snug to stop that.

I use the bottom of an old tupperware "cracker keeper" that I found on ebay. It measures 6" wide by 11" long, and stands 3" tall. I drilled a hole through each side, just under the lip of the tupperware bottom, and run a short bungy from those holes to the handle of the showdown case.  It sits just fine, without ever touching the neoprene case to ice.

I know, that thing stinks ,,, I even emailed Marcum with a good idea, but I got no reply,, I was in my neighbors garage, and he had this piece of tire tread, and it was about the size of the bottom of my showdown,, so I asked him for it, and then cut it to the size of the bottom of the case, and glued it to the bottom of the case using screws and shoe-goo..now there is a heavy duty rubber bottom on the case that can sit in slushy type snow etc etc. without getting the case all wet, and it won't freeze to the ice either... seems like a NO BRAINER to me that they would do something like that to allow the case to be sitting out on the ice with no issues...but hey what do I know

My marcum vx-1 case seems to stick to the ice after its been sitting for awhile, Rather annoying.

I was looking for a hard case made of wood or plastic and remove it from the Bag it came in. I saw one somewhere but not sure where.

I keep a small piece of 3/4" x 3" x 10" wood and set it on it.  Fits nice inside the case when not used
