Lunch hour Trout

I asked my 3 year old this morning if he wanted to catch a trout today, and he said YES!!! So we packed a lunch and headed to where I thought we might find some safe ice yet today.  Set up and read some books together. Hooked one during the first book and landed it, and then landed another while we ate our lunch. Pretty excited to catch a couple with just an hour of fishing, and to keep the boy happy and interested.

You are pretty brave taking a youngster out on , weak ice never wanted to risk it with mine , but to each his own!!  They can't be replaced!!

had 4+ inches of ice that was still very solid. checked it all before taking the little one on. and didn't push any limits

Must be the only place in the state with "solid" ice, glad u had a good time.
