Thorne brothers customer service
« on: Jan 17, 2017, 02:39 PM »
About a month ago I broke my Thorne brothers perch sweetheart. I've loved their rods for quite sometime so I drove two hours to Blaine, bought a new one and turned mine in for repair. Yesterday I had a friend pick it up for me and when I received it it was plain to see that they put the wrong blank on. Instead of a perch sweetheart they put a quiverstick on.

So far they are telling me that I have to return the wrong repair and wait two to three weeks for my new one. I'm a bit pissed but am I wrong for thinking they should do a little more to make this right?

Yeah, that's on them. They should be making it right for you instead of inconveniencing you.

At the price point they are at I would expect a new one to show up on my doorstep within days and with the return postage label included so you can send the wrong one back with no out of pocket for you.

Yes they should! Maybe they are playing for time as they don't have a replacement to give you right now?
It seems every I have looked those rods are out of stock.

Not saying what they did was right but have you used a quiverstick before for perch? Unless you are using jigs over 1/16th the quiver is a much better blank imo. Give it a try. My fav blank for 1/16th spoons and 5mm tungsten.

I bought a product from this same company about five years ago. Without going into to much detail I paid over $500 for the one item. Less than two weeks I tried to return it for being faulty. They pretty much told me to kick rocks, wouldn't even give me half the money back... Either way I'm guessing you know how much I bought from them after that!

He didn't, it happened about a month ago, and was fixed and picked up already. Nothing was said from what I can tell about waiting an extended amount of time. Regardless that shouldn't make a difference, it was in for a certain repair, and that job was not performed correctly.

In my opinion, if the OP had problems like that he needed to talk to Josh or John.

To be honest I never called. Talked to a guy at work and said he'd buy it even knowing there was a problem. Last I talked to him he still had it but don't know how much he used it. Its all in the past for me I got over it. Maybe that's because I didn't lose out all of my $$$.

Wow, I would think they would cut their losses on a mistake like that and just build you a new rod (the correct rod) and let you keep the other. or at the VERY least, they would pay for you to ship it back to them and get the new one built and out ASAP.

Agreed Kevin, I travel for work so that makes the whole situation even more of a pain. I'm hoping I can cut out early tomorrow and get up there to talk face to face.

After reading through their Facebook post regarding their "annual" robbery, I will never buy anything from them.  Their stuff is overpriced anyways.
