Anyone doing any good  ?   I fish the main lake at the river bend area but am wondering about the smaller lakes that touch the airport , are they private ?

Ive fished the pit at the end on the gravel road by the gas company. There's been about 6 inches of ice, but fishing has been slow. Did decent on crappies one night using plastics and minnows on a dead stick. Gils have been small to average and I haven't really managed any numbers.
I caught a fish once!

I have been curious about this spot too.   I am new to ice fishing and I know a lot of these little lakes tend to hold better fish.  I have heard that these lakes/ponds in the gravel pits tend to get hit pretty hard year round.

Yeah the main lake is where everyone fishes it has a good amount of parking .  Access is not good right now at the launch because the river causes the ice to lift and water pushes out at the edges if the lake .

Checked a few days ago and no one fishing.  Last week Thursday the shore was gone about 5-10' out and about 1/3 of the main pit was open water. Found one spot that I could access and spud went through in one hit and appeared to be about 3-4" of soft ice. Remember, the high river levels buckled the ice pretty bad.  Water levels went up 3-5' in most places.  Things are firming up good but the recent snow didn't help much.  Water levels are going back down but still a little high.  I use the pipes as a reference. Proceed with caution.

Drove by the pits this afternoon and saw quite a few shanties up. If you were out there, how was the fishing? I had zero luck at Max lake today.
