appleton lake rainbows

I live close to Appleton lake in the brighton state park area. I've fished Appleton lake 50 or more times and have never caught a rainbow trout in there, has anyone ever caught one?

Been out there many times during hard and open water seasons and have yet to catch anything other than some panfish, bass and pike.  Haven't heard of anyone catching a trout (any kind) in a very long time.  The stories I have heard come from a few "old timers".

The rainbows they stock are a perfect size for the northerns and largemouths to eat. Also there is a stream that runs out of the lake so maybe they just leave. I'll probably try some more one of these days.

Trout being so oily and fatty are some of the best food to get huge pike... Wonder how the pike are in that lake

fished most the day on Thursday and fought a nice fish for 5 minutes on my light line tip-up. trout hook and blue minnow 3 foot off the bottom. Lost the fish .stupid me I had all day to tire it out but I was to impatient. probably a pike.
