I've always had mixed results with mealies. If the fish are turned on and eating anything, they work. But for the most part, I have a slow time with mealies. It's like, when a fish hits a waxie or spike and I miss the set, he might come back and hit it again. If a fish hits a mealworm and I miss the set they never come back for a second taste. Like it looks good but tastes bad. Or maybe it's just too crunchy that day. I don't know what it is, some days they work fine but most of the time it seems to me that fish prefer almost anything over mealies.

we usually use spikes but mealies had been killing it might be time to switch back
