Ha..I've seen pics of giant Waterbury but have never had one come up in the winter.

no bugs but i have become friends with a muskrat.  really he comes flying outta the hle at my feet.  sight fishing it just freaks me out
but were buddies now and usually visits every trip

It is true you can catch 4 lb bluegills but the only thing that they will hit is 1/4 lb crickets.

cant say i ever seen one of those come up. polecat had a rat come up in his shanty at turkey though. ive found some that look similar, in shape, but in summer. they glowed green at night and crawl along the shore.

About a week ago I had a couple of crayfish walking around on the ice on my biggest pond. Ice was thawed along the edges and water was high. A friend suggested their tunnels may have been flooded and they came out unto the ice and got disoriented.  Air temp was in the low 40's and it had rained.

Here's one of them:

I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

All I know is I don't like to see them in my hatchery ponds. But not much I can do so live and let live. They are quite the fry fish predators.

Fortunately completely draining the pond and liming it before refilling usually takes a bite out of their population.
I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

I read that they bite people, eat fish,frogs,etc...seen other big bugs in Lake previous years.
